Independence Day is next week and it’s a wonderful time to celebrate a little patriotism with your friends and family at a backyard barbecue or local event. Plus, nothing beats a great fireworks show. There are plenty of big fireworks displays in Los Angeles every year. Here are some of the best places to enjoy the fireworks in LA this weekend and through the 4th of July.

Rose Bowl • July 4

We won’t have AmericaFest this year, but there will be a great soccer showcase between the L.A. Galaxy and LAFC at the historic Rose Bowl in Pasadena. It will be followed by a spectacular fireworks show over Brookside Golf Course. If you are lucky enough to get tickets to the match, you will have an excellent seat for the fireworks. Otherwise, there are plenty of spots nearby to see the show, including the Colorado Street Bridge and several parking garage rooftops in Old Pasadena. Learn more.

Hollywood Bowl • July 2-4

The Hollywood Bowl is always home to great concert events to celebrate the 4th of July. This year is no exception, with the legendary Beach Boys headlining the show. There will actually be three nights of concerts (July 2-4) and each performance will be followed by fireworks. Learn more.

Hollywood Forever • July 1

Hollywood Forever Cemetery is well-known for its amazing events and its annual fireworks extravaganzas. This year, they will be hosting a special screening of Pee-wee’s Big Adventure on Saturday, July 1. There will be plenty of other activities and food to enjoy that evening, and of course it will be capped off with a big fireworks show. Learn more.

Dodger Stadium • July 4

Dodger Stadium hosts a wonderful fireworks show after all Friday night Dodgers home games during the summer. They go even bigger on July 4. This year, they play the Pittsburgh Pirates and the game will be followed by fireworks. You may even have the chance to view the show from on the outfield grass! Learn more.

Marina del Rey • July 4

If you want a cooler seaside setting and watching the fireworks over the Pacific Ocean, then you may want to check out the annual fireworks show in Marina del Rey. There are many excellent places to view the show while enjoying some fine food, drink and entertainment around the marina. Learn more.

Starlight Bowl • July 4

The Starlight Bowl in Burbank will have Bruce Springsteen and U2 tribute bands in concert. At the end of the night (around 9:00), they will start the fireworks show that can also be seen from a number of other vantage points throughout the Valley. Learn more.
