Halloween is such a fun time of year that we always love to celebrate at The HD Group. Whether it’s putting up some spooky decorations or attending holiday-themed events throughout the Los Angeles area, we are all in on Halloween each and every year. This is by far Greg’s favorite holiday and he really gets into the spirit!

One of Greg’s lifelong passions is watching scary movies. He’s a true horror film aficionado, which is why our team is looking forward to the following two Halloween concert events happening in LA.

The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari
Disney Concert Hall • October 31

Disney Concert Hall will be showing the classic 1920 horror film masterpiece, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. The movie will be accompanied by virtuoso, Clark Wilson, playing the Disney Concert Hall’s massive pipe organ. It is sure to be a true bone-chilling experience to watch this incredible film directed by Robert Wiene with the live pipe organ performance by one of the best concert organists in the world.

This movie is considered to be one of the most influential and acclaimed films of the early German Expressionist genre. It has inspired horror film makers for over 100 years and this is an incredible way to experience it on Halloween night.

Another amazing horror film and music event will be happening the two nights before Halloween at the historic Ace Hotel theatre. This gothic auditorium is the perfect venue to host a special screening of the 1931 movie classic, Frankenstein, starring the legendary Boris Karloff.

The film will be shown with live musical accompaniment from the LA Opera Orchestra. This movie originally had no score. Composer, Michael Shapiro, has created an original soundtrack to bring the film to live with a full orchestral performance. It will be a whole new way to experience Frankenstein!
